The premium hunk-bike of Indian motorcycle- Scout Sixty is all set to plea in the Indian track with cost cutting tag. Priced at about 11.99 lakh, the Indian version of Scout Sixty is tagged as one of the cheapest luxury bikes available in India. The sale will go live in July 2016.
The Polaris-owned Indian Motorcycle has received a good response from the domestic market with their exorbitant Premium Chief range of bikes. However, the earlier launch in 2014 being priced at about 25 lakhs is failed to attract its buyers. Therefore, nailing the market logic, this time, they have come up with cheaper Indian Scout Sixty with choices of three different colors.
Talking about bike mechanics, it has the same frame, suspension, and brakes as the Scout, a huge plus point for it. But obviously, they have differences too. So here is what you have to compromise with price:
It has pistons of smaller diameter, 93mm, as compared to the Scout’s 96mm pistols. However, the engine stroke is the same at 73.6 mm, having a rev-comfy nature, perfectly suited for the Indian market. Thus, it has an engine capacity of 999cc whereas the Scout has an engine capacity of 1130 cc.
The power has been reduced by about 22ps to 79ps, whereas the torque has been reduced by 89Nm to 102Nm. Not much, isn’t it? Another difference is that scout sixty has a smaller gearbox, having 5 gear speeds as compared to the six gear speeds of Scout. Also, ABS is missing, in order to cut the cost of the bike.
Also, it dons a black seat and with a compatible body and colors of alloy wheels. It is also compatible with the original accessory kit of Scout, a huge plus point. Its height seat is low, about 642.62mm, which ensures a comfortable ride.
Priced at about 11 lakhs, this power-packed sibling of the very popular Scout bike is fantastic. This will surely enthrall the fans of original Scout with its superb performance, while being affordable, unlike other luxury bikes. Watch this space for more interesting bike-related news.
